It's a simple, 100Km by water and land crossing Schleswig Holstein from Maasholm the eastern end near the Baltic and ending up in Friedrichstadt on the Eider in the West. Historically this journey was described as the journey made by the Vikings to get to the North Seas and further west.

About the event
This event follows the path the Viking would have taken, from the Baltic inland to Haitabu and then crossing overland to Hollingstedt. Following the Treene a local river towards Friedrichstadt. Where the formal race ends, the route is self explanatory please see the below
